FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is red light therapy?
Red light therapy uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to support cellular energy production, circulation, recovery, skin health, and overall wellness. Many people use it to support healing, relaxation, inflammation reduction, and recovery.

2. What kinds of patients may benefit from red light therapy?

People often seek red light therapy for support with:

  • Chronic inflammation
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle soreness
  • Athletic recovery
  • Joint discomfort
  • Skin health concerns
  • Stress and recovery support
  • General wellness optimization

Some individuals undergoing treatment for chronic illness, Lyme disease, or cancer therapies also incorporate red light therapy into their wellness routines.

3. What is EWOT (Exercise with Oxygen Therapy)?

EWOT combines light exercise — typically walking, cycling, or gentle movement — with breathing a high concentration of oxygen through a mask. The goal is to super-oxygenate the blood so that oxygen reaches tissue throughout the brain and body more efficiently, supporting circulation and recovery.

Normal room air is about 21% oxygen. At The Shift, an oxygen generator concentrates that up to around 94% purity and fills a 900-liter reservoir before your session. You breathe from that reservoir through a mask while doing light exercise. Exercising while breathing that much oxygen moves it through your blood faster than sitting still ever could.

4. How does EWOT affect your blood and cells?

Your blood’s job is to carry oxygen to every cell in your body, and your cells use that oxygen to make ATP — short for adenosine triphosphate, the molecule your cells actually run on for energy. It’s the fuel behind everything from healing to muscle movement to basic cell function. More oxygen circulating means more raw material available to make it. One of EWOT’s early pioneers described ATP as the “master healing molecule” — when cells have enough fuel, they can do the repair and recovery work they’re built to do.

5. What kinds of patients may benefit from EWOT?
People often seek EWOT for support with:

  • Energy and reduced fatigue
  • Faster recovery after workouts, illness, or injury
  • Circulation and blood flow
  • Immune support
  •  Mental clarity and focus
  • Cardiovascular and lung health
  • General recovery support during cancer treatment or Lyme disease care

6. What is Acuscope and Myopulse therapy?

Acuscope and Myopulse therapy is a non-invasive, drug-free microcurrent treatment registered with the FDA as a Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) device, designed to support pain relief, reduce inflammation, and accelerate recovery at the cellular level. This advanced electrotherapy may help support recovery from injury, surgery, chronic pain, neurological conditions, and mobility challenges.

7. What kinds of patients may benefit from Acuscope and Myopulse therapy?

Patients often seek Acuscope and Myopulse therapy for support with:

  • Chronic pain
  • Neuropathy
  • Inflammation
  • Sports injuries
  • Post-surgical recovery
  • Neurological conditions
  • Muscle tension and spasms
  • Mobility limitations
  • Recovery after trauma or injury

8. What does Acuscope therapy feel like?

Most people describe Acuscope and Myopulse therapy as gentle and relaxing. The microcurrent used is very mild, and many clients feel little to no discomfort during treatment.

9. What is the Quadriciser?

The Quadriciser is a motorized therapeutic movement device designed to support circulation, mobility, lymphatic flow, nervous system function, and gentle whole-body movement through passive, repetitive motion.

10. What kinds of patients may benefit from the Quadriciser?

The Quadriciser uses gentle, passive, repetitive movement to support mobility and recovery for individuals with:

  • Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
  • Spinal cord injury (SCI)
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • ALS
  • Stroke recovery
  • Neurological conditions
  • Limited mobility
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Circulation concerns

Many people also use the Quadriciser to support nervous system regulation, flexibility, and low-impact movement therapy.

11. What therapies can help support patients undergoing treatment for cancer or Lyme disease?

Many patients undergoing treatment for cancer, Lyme disease, chronic fatigue, inflammation, or neurological conditions seek supportive wellness therapies such as:

  • EWOT (Exercise with Oxygen Therapy)
  • Red light therapy
  • Acuscope and Myopulse therapy
  • Central nervous system support therapies
  • Quadriciser therapy
  • Peptide therapy

These therapies are designed to support overall wellness, circulation, relaxation, recovery, and nervous system balance alongside medical care.

12. What is central nervous system support therapy?

Central nervous system support therapies are designed to help the body shift into a calmer, more restorative state. Supporting the nervous system may help improve relaxation, stress resilience, recovery, sleep quality, mobility, and overall well-being.

13. Who may benefit from nervous system support therapies?

People experiencing chronic stress, fatigue, neurological conditions, chronic illness, inflammation, sleep challenges, injury recovery, or nervous system dysregulation may benefit from therapies designed to support nervous system balance and recovery.

14. What is peptide therapy?

Peptide therapy uses short chains of amino acids — the same building blocks your body already uses to send cellular signals — to support processes like repair, inflammation regulation, and metabolic function. At The Shift, every protocol is built from a full blood panel and customized to what your labs actually show, not a standard stack.

15. What kinds of patients may benefit from peptide therapy?

Patients often seek peptide therapy for support with:

  • Lyme disease and chronic illness recovery
  • Detoxification and cellular clearance
  • Cellular support alongside cancer treatment
  • Anti-aging and longevity

Weight loss and metabolic health
16. How is peptide therapy at The Shift different?

Our peptide program is led by a research scientist who previously studied cancer at Columbia University in New York. Rather than starting with a peptide and matching it to a symptom, we start with your bloodwork, look at what’s happening at the cellular level, and build an eight-week protocol around the root cause — not just the symptom.

17. Are these therapies safe to combine with medical treatment?

Our therapies are designed as supportive wellness care, not a replacement for medical treatment. Many clients incorporate them alongside care from their treating physician or oncology team. We recommend keeping your doctor informed about any wellness therapies you’re pursuing, especially during active medical treatment.

18. How do I know which therapy is right for me?

It depends on your goals, health history, and what your body actually needs — which is exactly what a consultation is for. We’ll talk through what you’re dealing with and recommend a starting point based on your specific situation.

19. What should I expect at a first visit?

Your first visit starts with a conversation about your health history, current concerns, and goals. From there, we’ll recommend which therapies make sense for you and walk you through what a treatment plan would look like.
